Sometimes there are situations in which reading crucial information such as distance, dof scale, f-stop and shutter speed off your Leica M or R becomes extremely difficult: in dimly lit interiors such as bars, theaters, etc. or especially when shooting night scenes outdoors. That's where the SHINE comes in, the Leica mini light sabre.

The SHINE attaches to your Leica by means of self adhesive velcro dots which come along. It's best placed right above the viewfinder of the Leica M, thus illuminating the lens barrel as well as the brightlines(!). Nevertheless it's short enough not to protrude into the viewfinder area itself.

When used along with the SF20 it's best attached right on top of the flash unit. With the Leica R4 its place is on top of the prism. This way the SHINE illuminates not only the lens barrel but the shutter speed window on the prism front, thus allowing for effortless reading of f-stop and shutter speed in the viewfinder!
